Quick Prawn Biryani

Ingredients

  • 3-4 tbspoon ghee
  • Gota spices - 1 bayleaf, 1 cinnamon stilck, 2 cardamoms, 1 black cardamom, 2 teaspoon shahi jeera,
  • 1 large onion, cut to long slices
  • 1 tomato chopped,
  • chopped green chili (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • Spices - salt to taste, red chilli powder to taste, 2 teaspoon cumin powder, 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • Rice 3 cups - presoaked for half an hour
  • water 6+1.5 cups (use your own mechanism, remember we dont want to make the biryani soggy)
  • 15-20 pieces deveined prawns - marinated with salt to taste, red chilli powder to taste, 2 teaspoon cumin powder, 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 3 teasppons chopped coriander leaves


Procedure

  1. Heat ghee in pressure, add gota spices till splutters
  2. Add onion, let it brown in low heat, add ginger and garlic paste
  3. Add tomato, Add the spices, simmer for 5- 10 min
  4. Add marinated prawns, add chopped coriander leaves
  5. Add rice
  6. Pressure cook till 3 whistles. You might want to release the pressure a bit early.
